Current enrollment period is open from January 12, 2026 through April 12, 2026

* Applications are reviewed in accordance with established eligibility criteria. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.

  • The AhíTvlâōfoh Yamassee–Guale Nation of Georgia maintains a living legacy rooted in ancestral tradition, kinship responsibility, and the preservation of our cultural, spiritual, and historical identity. Tribal citizenship is more than placement on a registry. It is a commitment to the values, responsibilities, and collective future of our people.

Enrollment is approached with care, respect, and accountability. The purpose of our enrollment standards is to establish clear and consistent guidelines for verifying lineage and community connection, to protect the integrity of the Nation through responsible stewardship, and to ensure that all citizens share in the preservation of our ancestral traditions, homelands, and governance.

Enrollment reflects both heritage and participation. Applicants are expected to demonstrate ancestral ties, cultural alignment, and a sincere willingness to contribute to the continuity of the Nation. These standards are designed to guide applicants and strengthen a unified tribal identity as we move forward with clarity and purpose.

  • Applicants must demonstrate verified ancestral lineage connected to the Yamassee–Guale people. This includes a documented genealogical tree showing direct linear descent extending a minimum of six generations or reaching back to the historical period surrounding the Second Creek War of the 1830s.

Genealogical documentation is reviewed carefully to ensure accuracy, consistency, and historical relevance. Applicants are required to submit a clearly organized genealogy chart identifying the individuals used to establish eligibility.

  • Applicants must show ancestral connection to traditional Yamassee–Guale homelands. This may include historical, geographic, or archival evidence demonstrating Indigenous presence or documented events within ancestral regions associated with the applicant’s lineage.

  • Enrollment applications are reviewed by the Enrollment Committee using established criteria. A processing fee is required for adult applicants to support archival research access, genealogical verification, and document review.

If an application is not approved, the applicant will be notified and all submitted materials will be returned.

  • Tribal citizenship carries responsibility. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an understanding that enrollment represents active participation rather than symbolic affiliation. This includes respect for tribal governance, leadership, and community protocols, as well as a willingness to contribute time, service, or knowledge in support of the Nation as circumstances allow.

Applicants will be asked to reflect on their intentions, skills, and understanding of tribal citizenship as part of the enrollment process.
