Chief Moon Hawk, Principal Chief
Chief Moon Hawk leads a focused, multi-year effort to secure state recognition in Georgia, supported by extensive genealogical research, historical documentation, and sustained engagement with state institutions. His work is grounded in building a credible, verifiable record that reflects the continuous presence and identity of his people in the Southeastern region.
Alongside this effort, he is deeply committed to cultural preservation and education. As an instructor of the Hichiti language and a keeper of traditions, he ensures that ancestral knowledge, ceremonial practices, and cultural systems remain active and are passed forward with purpose.
His leadership also extends into public and institutional engagement, including educational lectures, cultural initiatives, and collaboration with tribal allies, researchers, and organizations. Through this work, Chief Moon Hawk continues to strengthen awareness, credibility, and long-term pathways for recognition and cultural continuity.
